PTSA stands for Parent, Teacher, and Student Association. It was created nationwide, not just here, to promote the welfare of children and youth in the home, school and community. The PTSA strives to bring a better working relationship between these entities so that parents and teachers are better able to cooperate in public education.
Most people think of PTSA as simply a fundraising organization, and although we do raise funds for the school, it is not our only function. On the state level PTA is very active in politics, securing safety funding, education funding, and health and fitness funding for our schools.
At our local level the money we raise is to help subsidize the items in the school budget that are generally cut when money is tight. None of this could be done without your help and support.
Whether you donate through the Enrichment program, buy books at our Book Fair, or sponsor a child in the Jog-a-Thon, you help make our schools a better place for our children.
